ICAR Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Dimapur, Nagaland Centre organized a Field Day on Kharif Maize (Pusa HQPM-5 Improved) at Dhansiripar village on 9/10/2024. The event also featured the distribution of agricultural inputs, including one motorized VL Maize Sheller and five wheel hoes.
        Shri Kevin Solo, Sub-Divisional Agricultural Officer (SDAO), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event witnessed active participation from local farmers, State Agricultural Officials, and KVK representatives, with a total of 30 participants
        Dr. Phool Kumari, Senior Scientist cum Head, KVK Dimapur addressed the gathering with a warm welcome address. Dr. Bendangla Imsong, CTO Plant breeding served as the event in-charge, guiding discussions. Two local farmers shared their experiences with the Improved Maize variety, highlighting the benefits and successes they have achieved, that inspired the other farmers.
        The program concluded with an engaging interactive session between the farmers and agricultural officials. Dr. Moanaro, Programme Assistant delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers for their contributions to the event. Ms. Marneni Divya Sree, SMS Agriculture Extension co-ordinated the activities, ensuring a smooth and successful gathering.
        The Field Day provided valuable insights into Kharif Maize, agricultural innovations and encouraged the local farmers to adopt the improved technologies by seeing is believing concept.
